Why Golf?

Experiences are our greatest teacher. First Tee believes in developing the ones that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next. Through our personal growth and junior golf programs, we see kids’ build self confidence, inspiring more active participation in leadership opportunities and events, community involvement, and college scholarships.

School Program

Since 2004, First Tee has partnered with schools across the country to bring our program directly into PE classes. In Southeast Wisconsin, we equip elementary and middle school educators with everything they need to teach golf in a fun, age-appropriate, and accessible way — no golf course required.

The program is built to align with national physical education standards developed by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE). Lessons are flexible, allowing teachers to adapt them to class size, available space, and schedule. We also work with schools to identify funding opportunities, including sponsors and donations, to make the program as accessible as possible.

What’s Included

The First Tee School Program provides educators with:

  • Training and Support – Professional development to prepare teachers to deliver golf and life-skill lessons with confidence.
  • Curriculum and Lesson Plans – Ready-to-use lessons that integrate motor skills, golf fundamentals, and core values.
  • Equipment – Age-appropriate golf equipment designed for use in a gym or school setting.
  • Educator Network – Access to an online community of teachers and youth leaders, along with ongoing resources and support from peers across the country.

Whether students are picking up a golf club for the first time or building on skills they’ve already started, our School Program meets them where they are — helping them grow through the game, in school, and in life.

The First Tee School Program is eligible for Title IV and ESSER funding.
