Impacting the lives of young people through golf
Founded in 2004, as a collaborative effort with the Wisconsin PGA Junior Foundation, First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin is a 501(c)(3) organization designed to serve as a place for participants to learn valuable life skills and character lessons through creative activities and instructional programs that incorporate the fundamental teachings of golf.
The goal of First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin is to incorporate responsibility, courtesy, honesty and integrity – all values inherent in the game of golf – into the daily lives of those who participate. By using the fundamentals of golf, First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin equips youth with the skills needed to follow their dreams, advance academically and athletically, strengthen their social abilities and become productive members of their local community.
Formerly known as the First Tee of Milwaukee County, in 2015, the organization underwent the transition to First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin, where today it services youth throughout Fond du Lac, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha Counties. First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin seeks to grow programs by offering more instruction and enhancing programs at a wider number of facilities throughout all of Southeast Wisconsin.

Character Gap
Today’s kids and teens are facing new challenges, but some things never change. Strength of character is still essential for overcoming obstacles. Yet 89% of parents feel character is a lost value that should be more emphasized in today’s society, according to new research from First Tee and The Harris Poll. That’s an increase of 4 percentage points from 2023. And nine out of 10 parents (89%) are seeking opportunities for their kids to build character.
First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
